Daily Report on Committee Activities

 

On Monday, 08/01/2024 Afghan refugees returned from various routes of the country and received essential services in different areas.

The comprehensive report of the daily activities carried out by the committees is presented as follows:

 

Nangarhar

 

Torkham (Durand Fictitious Line)

 

Registration, Verification, and Reception Committee:

 

A total of 64 members from 23 families returned through Torkham and were successfully registered and underwent biometric procedures.

 

Financial Management Committee:

 

The Financial Affairs Organizing Committee provided assistance to 29 families, providing a total of 29,000 Afghanis.

 

Transportation and Transfer Committee:

 

20 families consisting of 107 members were safely transported to Nangarhar, Kunar, Laghman, and Kabul provinces from Torkham. Additionally, these families were provided with a rental support of 33,000 Afghani.

 

Temporary Settlement Committee:

 

In Torkham, 17 families were accommodated in a short-term settlement camp.

 

Services and Healthcare Committee:

 

Multiple services, including healthcare, were extended to returning refugees at Torkham Omari Camp. The following assistance was provided:

 

– Food: 560 meals and 75,000 liters of clean water were distributed within the Torkham camps.

– Food items and Clothing: Blankets, floor coverings, gas stoves, 27 packages of raw food items, and various miscellaneous items were distributed to the returning refugees in Torkham.

– Communications: 138 SIM cards were distributed to the returnees, free of charge, with complimentary minutes and internet packages.

 

Job Seeking Committee:

 

The Torkham Employment Committee registered a total of 111 individuals, including 4 bachelor’s degree holders, 1 master’s degree holder, 2 Quran memorizers, 2 religious scholars, 43 laborers from impoverished backgrounds, and 9 professionals.

Additionally, the committee conducted public awareness programs for 129 children in Torkham, focusing on topics such as explosives awareness, hygiene, child protection, Afghanistan’s situation, and provided recreational activities for the mental well-being of these children.

 

Information and Public Awareness Committee:

 

In Torkham, the committee continued its efforts to raise public awareness among the refugees. The following topics were covered:

 

– Registration process, transfer procedures, financial aid, and temporary settlement information were provided to the refugees.

– Education and training, patience, and tolerance within the Islamic system were discussed.

– The Order of Virtue and Prevention of Vice Department of Nangarhar Province, in coordination with the committee, also conducted awareness campaigns in various areas.

– The committee, in collaboration with the IOM office, distributed 30 immigration forms to the refugees.

 

Kandahar

 

Spin Boldak (Durand Hypothetical Line)

 

Registration, Verification, and Reception Committee:

 

A total of 268 members from 61 families returned to the country and were successfully registered through Spin Boldak.

 

Financial Management Committee:

 

The Financial Affairs Committee disbursed a total of (610,000) Afghanis to 61 families as financial assistance.

 

Transportation and Transfer Committee:

 

Ten families with 55 members from Spin Boldak were safely transported to Kandahar and Helmand provinces. Additionally, rental support of (26,000 Afghanis) was provided to these families.

 

Temporary Settlement Committee:

 

In Spin Boldak, 46 families were placed in a short-term settlement camp.

 

Services and Healthcare Committee:

 

Various services, including healthcare, were provided to returning refugees in Spin Boldak:

 

– Food: 700 meals and water were distributed in White Boldak.

– Health: 235 returning refugees received medical treatment in Spin Boldak.

– Public Awareness: 449 refugees were given awareness sessions on health-related topics in different areas.

– Clothing: Tents, blankets, and other necessary items were distributed to refugees in short-term camps.

– Communication: The Telecommunication Services Agency distributed 201 SIM cards to returning refugees free of charge, including complimentary minutes and internet packages.

 

Job Seeking Committee:

 

In Spin Boldak, the Employment Committee registered a total of 143 individuals, including 1 bachelor’s degree holder, 1 post-baccalaureate degree holder, 2 Quran memorizers, 9 religious scholars, 91 laborers from impoverished backgrounds, and 39 professionals. Furthermore, the committee conducted public awareness programs for 48 children in Spin Boldak, focusing on explosives awareness, hygiene, child protection, and the situation in Afghanistan.

Additionally, recreational activities were provided to promote the mental well-being of these children. The committee also successfully reunited 3 missing children with their families.

 

Paktia

 

Temporary Settlement Committee:

 

In Angoor Ada, a short-term settlement camp has accommodated 3 families.

Paktika

 

Angor Ada Road

Registration, Verification, and Reception Committee:

 

Two 2 families returned to the country and successfully registered through Angor Ada in Paktika province.

 

Financial Management Committee:

 

The Financial Affairs Committee provided financial assistance of 10,000 Afghanis to two 2 families, totaling 20,000,000 Afghanis.

 

Transportation and Transfer Committee:

 

Two 2 families from Angur base were safely transferred to their respective districts and villages.

 

Temporary Settlement Committee:

 

A short-term settlement camp in Angoor base accommodated six 6 families.

 

Services and Healthcare Committee:

 

Various services, including healthcare, were provided to returning refugees at Angor Ada:

 

– Food: 106 meals and clean water were distributed in Angur Adha and Sharan.

– Health: 11 returning refugees received medical treatment in Angur Adha and Sharan.

– Communication: The Department of Communication Services distributed six 6 SIM cards to returning refugees free of charge, including complimentary minutes and internet packages.

 

Information and Public Awareness Committee:

 

Refugees traveling to Angur base were provided with public awareness sessions, covering topics such as registration, transfer procedures, financial assistance, short-term settlement, understanding of the country, Islamic system, migration, patience, tolerance, education, and training.

 

Nimroz

 

Silk Road

 

Committee for Registration, Verification, and Reception:

 

Thirty families with a total of 118 members returned to the country through the silk route of Nimroz province and were successfully registered. Additionally, 1559 travelers have returned to the country.

 

Financial Management Committee:

 

The Financial Affairs Committee provided financial assistance of 10,000 Afghanis to seven 7 families, totaling 70,000 Afghanis.

 

Temporary Settlement Committee:

 

In Nimroz, 28 families were placed in a short-term settlement camp.

 

Services and Healthcare Committee:

 

Various services, including healthcare, were provided to returning migrants on the Nimroz Silk Road:

 

– Communication: Thirty SIM cards were distributed to refugees free of charge, including complimentary minutes and internet packages.

 

Information and Public Awareness Committee:

 

Public awareness sessions were conducted for 118 refugees on the Silk Road of Nimroz Province, providing information on registration, transfer procedures, financial assistance, short-term settlement, understanding of the country, Islamic system, migration, patience, tolerance, education, and training.

 

Herat

 

Temporary Settlement Committee:

 

In Herat, 40 families were placed in a short-term settlement camp.

 

Kabul

 

Transportation and Transfer Committee:

 

A family of eight 8 members from Kabul was safely transported to Kunduz province, with a total car rent of 4,000 Afghanis.

 

The Summary of the activities of all committees are as follows:

 

– Registered immigrants: There are a total of 116 families and 454 individuals who have been successfully registered.

– Transported refugees: A total of 33 families and 174 individuals have been safely transported.

– Assisted migrants: The committees have provided assistance to 99 families.

– Temporarily settled migrants: A total of 140 families have been accommodated in temporary settlement camps.

– Treated refugees: A total of 246 individuals have received medical treatment and care.

– Distributed SIM cards: The committees have distributed a total of 375 SIM card digits.
