In Kabul, the Acting Minister of the Ministry of National Defense, Maulvi Muhammad Yaqub “Mujahid,” held a meeting with Chinese Ambassador Zhaoxing at his office.

During the meeting, the Minister of National Defense acknowledged the positive strides made in diplomatic, commercial, and economic cooperation between the two countries. He emphasized the shared interests and commonalities that exist between Afghanistan and China, particularly in terms of strengthening relations as neighboring nations. The Minister expressed appreciation for China’s investments in Afghanistan and reiterated their commitment to enhancing security.

The Chinese Ambassador, in turn, recognized the significance of global security in Afghanistan as an opportunity for economic and commercial projects. He reaffirmed China’s longstanding commitment to cooperation in commercial, economic, and similar domains while maintaining a non-interference policy in political matters. Both sides also exchanged views on border issues and discussed the Wakhan project.
