According to the National Statistics and Information and Authority (NSIA), a total of 27,914 foreigners entered and exited the country through airports and land ports last year.

Among them, 15,153 foreigners, including 675 women, arrived in the country, while 12,761 individuals, including 495 women, departed.

 

The data collected by the agency indicates that the highest number of foreign citizens were recorded at Nimroz port, Herat airport and ports, Torkham and Haritano ports, and Kabul airport. The figures also reveal that many foreigners visited the country for tourism and work purposes.

 

Moreover, the recorded data highlights that the majority of foreign tourists visited ancient sites in provinces such as Bamiyan, Herat, Kandahar, Nangarhar, Ghor, Badakhshan, Kunduz, Paktia, Khost, Nuristan, Balkh, Samangan, and Kunar.

 

It is important to note that the Department of Population Registration Services within the National Statistics and Information Agency is responsible for the registration of foreign citizens through airports and official ports, among other related activities.
