According to the Deputy Prime Minister, exhibitions not only stimulate a country’s trade but also foster investment prospects in the agricultural sector.

Acknowledging Afghanistan’s ample agricultural lands and water resources for irrigation, the Deputy Prime Minister noted that despite these advantages, agricultural productivity remains subpar. To address this, the Deputy PM for Economic Affairs Office, in collaboration with field experts, has initiated the formulation of a comprehensive national development strategy. Once endorsed by Amir-ul-Momineen Sheikh-ul-Hadith Mawlawi Hibatullah Akhundzada, this strategy will be implemented to enhance the agricultural sector.

Emphasizing the Islamic Emirate’s prioritization of agriculture alongside industry, the Deputy PM underscored efforts to manage water resources effectively and initiate significant projects to harness their potential. Mr. Hanafi emphasized that agriculture and livestock are vital sources of livelihood for 80 percent of the population, and strengthening the agricultural sector would directly benefit farmers.

Mawlawi Abdul Kabir, Political Deputy Prime Minister of the IEA, graced the opening ceremony of the 30th Farmer’s Fair and Agricultural Products Exhibition today.

In his address, the Political Deputy expressed heartfelt condolences to the farmers who suffered losses due to recent floods and natural disasters. He offered prayers for the martyrs’ heavenly abode and urged patience for their grieving families. The Deputy extended gratitude to all hardworking Afghan farmers for their relentless efforts in strengthening the country’s economy.

Mawlawi Abdul Kabir emphasized that agriculture serves as the backbone of Afghanistan’s economy, with agricultural products forming a significant portion of the country’s exports and overall production. He stressed that supporting farmers and promoting agricultural products is a collective responsibility. Over the past few decades, Afghanistan’s institutions have been severely impacted by wars and invasions, and adequate attention has not been given to their restoration. The Political Deputy highlighted the need to explore suitable markets in the region and around the world, ensuring Afghanistan’s products meet international standards and reach global markets.

Efforts to improve water supply, establish a regulated water distribution system, construct and repair canals and dams, and facilitate farmers’ product development were outlined as priorities of the Islamic Emirate. Maulvi Abdul Kabir highlighted the significant investment potential and opportunities within the agricultural sector, urging both domestic and foreign companies and investors to consider investing in this field.

Mawlawi Abdul Kabir conveyed the Islamic Emirate’s commitment to strengthening the agriculture and livestock sector, aiming to lead Afghanistan towards self-sufficiency. While acknowledging the neglect of previous Afghan rulers, he emphasized the Emirate’s focus on rehabilitating existing facilities as a step toward progress and development.
