According to the ministry of mines and petroleum in Panjshir province, the second auction of this year’s emeralds took place during a formal ceremony. The event was attended by the Panjshir mining chief, local officials, miners, media representatives, and businessmen. A remarkable 2,693-carat emerald, valued at US$204,900, was successfully sold.

It is worth noting that the Islamic Emirate holds a 10 percent stake in these emeralds, while the remaining 90 percent is owned by miners who are all residents of Panjshir province. Additionally, many individuals residing in Panjshir province are actively engaged in the mining operations.

The auction attracted the participation of over 100 domestic and foreign businessmen, showcasing the significant interest in these precious gemstones.
