KABUL, Feb. 23 –  A high-ranking Pakistani delegation headed by the Minister of Defense of Pakistan, Mr. Khawaja Asif,  met with the Economic Deputy prime Minister of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund in presedential palace afternoon hours on Wednasday.

 

After meeting with Mullah Baradar Akhund, a detailed working meeting was held between the Pakistani delegation and the Afghan side Minister of National Defense Honorable Mawlwii Muhammad Yaqoob Mujahid, Minister of Interior Khalifa Sahib Sirajuddin Haqqani, Minister of Foreign Affairs Honorable Mawlwi Amir Khan Muttaqi and Chief of General Directorate Intelligence Honorable Mullah Abdul Haq Wasiq were present. There was detailed discussions on many interesting issues between the countries.

In the meeting, there was a clear and detailed discussion on the security concerns of both sides, the drone flights over our area, and the activities of the opposition militants.

 

Meanwhile, useful discussions were held on the transit, commercial and economic relations between the two countries, the problems of traveling along the border and the problems of Afghan refugees in Pakistan. Both sides agreed that economic and commercial issues should not be affected by political problems.

 

In the end, both sides emphasized on solving the problems through dialogue and understanding and developing and strengthening political and economic relations.
