In accordance with the decree issued by Esteemd Amir-ul-Momineen (May Allah protect him) to combat the cultivation and smuggling of poppy, efforts to prevent poppy cultivation are underway throughout the country.
As poppy cultivation has been observed in certain districts of Badakhshan province. Efforts have commenced to eradicate poppy cultivation in order to eliminate this detrimental plant and its associated smuggling. This decree extends to all regions without exception.
Regrettably, there have been incidents where offenders attempted to attack the security forces involved in the fight against poppy cultivation, resulting in tragic events.
To conduct a thorough investigation into these incidents, a committee has been appointed by the office of the prime minister under the leadership of Mr. Qari Fasihuddin Fitrat, Chief of Staff of the Ministry of National Defense.
The committee includes Mawlawi Shamsuddin Shariati, the head of overseeing and monitoring directives and commands, Mullah Abdul Haq Deputy Minister of Narcotics Control, Ministry of Interior, Mullah Rahmatullah Najeeb Deputy General Directorate of Intelligence, and Mawlawi Abdul Momin Chairman of Badakhshan Ulema Council.
The committee has been entrusted with the responsibility of conducting a comprehensive investigation into the incidents and submitting a detailed report to office of the prime minister.
