A trade and economic delegation from Turkmenistan, currently visiting Herat, has revealed plans to establish agreements with local factories for the processing and extraction of ornamental stones in the province’s industrial town.

The delegation praised the mining operations in Herat as unprecedented and expressed their intention to invest in this sector. The industrial town of Herat currently hosts 40 factories engaged in the processing and extraction of ornamental stones, which are not only supplied to domestic markets but also exported to countries such as Iran, Arabia, and Australia.

These investments are expected to further enhance the development and export potential of Afghanistan’s ornamental stone industry.
