Around 30000 beggars so far collected from Kabul

KABUL, Feb. 14 – The Beggar Collecting Committee has so far gathered 28433 beggars from different parts of Kabul city until Feb 13, 2023, says a statement by office of the deputy PM for economic affairs.

According to details, among the identified beggars, 12272 are women, of whom only 5617 have been considered deserving while the remaining 6655 are professional beggars.

Moreover, there are 3716 men beggars. After a meticulous assessment, only 1193 have been deemed deserving, while the rest (2523) have been identified as professional beggars. Among the 28433 beggars, there are 12445 child beggars, of whom 4359 are needy, while 8016 are professional. As well as, 70 other unaccompanied minors are taken into the care and training centers by the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs after registering their biometric data. They are provided with food and education facilities there.

The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan is providing needy beggars with continuous cash assistance.
