2 check posts overrun in Maiwand, 9 killed

KANDAHAR, Aug. 26 – Mujahideen carried out coordinated assaults on 2 police check posts along Herat road in Khak Chopan area of Maiwand district overnight.
Attack of heavy and light arms, resulting in both the posts overrun after killing 9 puppets and forcing the rest to escape while leaving 27000 cash, 1 PKM machine gun, 1 RPG launcher, 3 rifles, 1 binocular, 500 rounds and other ammunition behind.
It is said that 3 Mujahideen also sustained injuries in crossfire.
