According to officials from the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum, Afghanistan currently operates 24 active oil wells across the country, yielding a daily extraction of 13.5 tons of oil.

The number of wells is steadily increasing as exploration, extraction, and well drilling activities continue. The ministry’s spokesperson highlighted that Afghanistan possesses oil fields spanning an area of 200,000 square kilometers, divided into five major basins.

Ongoing efforts are focused on exploring and developing these oil-rich areas to unlock their potential for the nation’s energy resources.
