Reconstruction work of Kandahar-Herat highway kicks off

HERAT, Dec. 13  –  The repair and reconstruction of 65 km road of the Kandahar-Herat highway started today, said press office of the ministry of public affairs.

The project has been inaugurated by legal advisor of the Ministry of Public Works, Mawlawi Habibul Rahman Agha, the head of Kandahar Public Works Mullah Abdul Hadi Yaqoob and the engineers of this project, a statement said.

This road, which is 65 meters long, starts from Bagh Pul in Kandahar province and reaches the borders of Helmand proinvce. According to the legal adviser of the Ministry of Public Works  Kandahar-Herat The highway in a very bad condition and created problems for travelers; Currently, its repair and restoration work has been started by the Ministry of Public Works, the cost of which is paid from the budget of this Ministry.

According to Sher Hassan Khushiwal the engineer in charge of the said project, The project includes the restoration of bridges and culverts along with all the damaged areas of the road.
