    KABUL, Mar. 0l30 – Interior Minister Alhaj Khalifa Sirajuddin Haqqani met with the UN Under-Secretary-General and his accompanying delegation, this morning.

    Martin Griffith, Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations, and his accompanying delegation appreciated the Minister of the Interior for the security of all UN agencies.

    The Minister also thanked Griffith for his continued humanitarian assistance and said: “For the last 20 years the international community has tried to force its demands on the Afghan people, but what is most encouraging is that; “We are now resolving issues through dialogue and understanding,” he added and said we want to send a message to the world that we have strong intentions and readiness for interaction.

    The UN Under-Secretary-General informed that he wants to ask for 4 billion per year for Afghanistan at tomorrow’s international conference, which is an unprecedented annual aid in the history of the United Nations.
