KABUL, Feb. 07 – According to foreign ministry’s deputy spokesman Hafiz Zia Ahamd Takal, Mr. Thomas Nicholas, the Special Representative for Afghanistan from the European Union, held a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi.

Various topics were discussed, including the recent London meetings on Afghanistan, the meeting of Afghanistan’s regional cooperation Initiative organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Kabul, and the up coming meeting of countries on Afghanistan in Doha, semi-developmental aid provided by the European Union, and consular services for Afghans residing in Europe.

At the outset, the European Union’s Special Representative for Afghanistan briefed the Minister of Foreign Affairs about the London meeting, emphasizing their significance.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs expressed that the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan maintains a policy of fostering positive relations with all countries worldwide. He expressed hope that the upcoming meeting in Doha would mark the beginning of a positive phase between Afghanistan and the international community.

In response to the question about the Afghan government’s participation in the Doha meeting, Mr. Muttaqi stated that the Islamic Emirate holds an overall positive view of the meeting and is considering meaningful participation.

In conclusion, both sides reiterated their commitment to strengthening and advancing bilateral relations and cooperation.
