Equipment seized as key post overrun in Lashkargah, 5 killed

HELMAND, Sep. 03 – According to a latest report from capital Lashkargah, Mujahideen carried out an attack on a strategic checkpoinit in Sarkarwali area overnight amid ongoing Operation Omari.
Attack in which heavy and light arms were used lasted for about 2 hours, resulting in the check post was overrun, leaving 5 policemen dead inside and forcing the rest to flee by leaving corpses on the battle ground.
It adds a ranger pickup, 1 PKM machine gun, 1 RPG launcher, 3 rifles and a sizable amount of other was equipment was confiscated in the operation.
A Mujahid was wounded and another one embraced martyrdom during the combat.
