DAB Reacts to US Decision Regarding Country’s Foreign Exchange Reserves

KABUL, Nov. 22 – Da Afghanistan Bank’s currency is owned by Afghans and has been used for years to strengthen monetary stability and facilitate trade with the world, said Ad Afghanistan Bank (DAB) in a statement on Tuesday.

The statement adds, the decision of the United States of America regarding the establishment an institution in Switzerland and transferring a part of the foreign exchange reserves of Da Afghanistan Bank there and assigning it to unrelated purposes; without considering the necessary standards and transparency; as well as not paying attention to Afghanistan Bank’s concerns is an unfair decision for the people of Afghanistan.

Therefore, decision in absence of honest representatives of the people of Afghanistan and its adoption without participation of Da Afghanistan Bank is unacceptable, said the statement.
