Enemy suffers heavy toll as highway remains shut; post overrun, 9 tanks destroyed

  WARDAK, Oct. 26 – the Islamic Emirate’s Mujahideen closed off Kabul-Wardak, Kandahar-Wardak and Jalriz-Wardak highways at predawn on Wednesday, targeting the enemy military installations and government buildings in the province capital of Wardak province, according to Al-Emarah News reports.

Heavy clashes ensued that lasted through much of the day in which a large number of the enemy soldiers were killed and wounded.

Three armored personnel carriers were destroyed in the fighting early today while a further four were destroyed in the afternoon hours of the day. An additional two ranger vehicles were destroyed, bringing the number of the enemy tanks destroyed in Wardak operation to 7 and vehicles to 2.

The enemy attempts to reopen the roads and break Mujahideen siege of the enemy installations were foiled and a large number of the enemy soldiers suffered casualties.

Similarly, the enemy abandoned three of their posts and fled the area for fear of Mujahideen advance.

Mujahideen seized a combat post from the enemy in today’s operation, capturing a good deal of arms and ammo from the enemy.

Two Mujahideen fighters embraced martyrdom and three more suffered injuries in the entire operation.

Meantime, Mujahideen laid a siege to the Maidan Shar city, the provincial capital of Wardak province, blocking off all the ways leading to and from the city.
