KABUL, Mar. 15 – A regular meeting of the Economic Commission was convened in the Marmara Palace under the chairmanship of Mr. Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, the Deputy Economic Prime Minister, and the topics chosen in accordance with the agenda were discussed, said a statement of the deputy economic PM.

It was resolved at the meeting that the committee established by the Ministry of Economics to address transportation issues should look into current issues in the industry and provide a report to the Economic Commission.

Similerly, in accordance with the current procedure, the customs duty process for unregistered automobiles and the period for associated problems has been extended until the end of 1402. In the same way, it was decided at the meeting that the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum would give the office of Economic deputy Prime Minister and the member ministries of the Economic Commission access to the overall report and decision-making criteria related to the tender of the Sarb and Jasto Mine in the Ghor Province in order to reach a final decision, so to make a decision in the next meeting of the Economic Commission after full evaluation.

Following a thorough discussion of the Afghanistan Electricity Company’s economic plan for the rental and leasing of optical fibre lines, it was decided that Afghan Telecom, the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, and DA Afghanistan Breshna Sherkst, all under the direction of the Ministry of Economy, should look into the optical fibre issue and submit a report to the office of Economic deputy PM.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development can authorise construction projects connected to the development of New Kabul City in the Deh Sabz District of Kabul Province whose land has legal clearance documents, such as the guarantee of land. Furthermore, the necessary paperwork must be filed to the Economic Commission for approval before being made available for public.
