6 posts overrun in Helmand, 7 including commander surrender

HELMAND, Oct. 02 – According to Al Emarah news, as many as 3 hireling check posts located in Simeti area of Marjah district were overrun 2 APCs destroyed by IED attacks and another one by RPG fire amid a Mujahideen gunfight overnight.

Similarly, the same number of check posts were overrun in Goraf Shesh area of Nad Ali district.

As many as 14 ANA and ANP personnel have been killed or wounded and a pickup and a large number of weapons were seized in the above operations.

It is said that a hireling commander – Dilawar – and his 7 colleques have repented their wrongdoings and left enemy ranks, handing over a ranger pickup and a sizeable of heavy and light arms to the Mujahideen.
