PAKTIKA, Sept. 4 – The Islamic Emirate’s Mujahideen have taken over Omna district southeastern Paktika province, dismantling all its 6 checkpoints, Al-Emarah News says.

Mujahideen had besieged the district over the past four days until the enemy were forced to flee the district with fatal casualties to lose the district to Mujahideen.

Reports suggest Mujahideen of the Islamic Emirate seized control of all the government installations as well as the district police station and headquarters.

The fighting intensified at about 2:00 a.m. local time last night after a four-day siege in which 7 police were killed, while 5 puppets wounded in last night clashes succeeded in getting away, taking advantage of the dark.

In the meantime, Mujahideen captured from the enemy’s possession 6 military vehicles, 1 motorbike and a good deal of arms and ammo.

A total of 21 enemy soldiers have been killed with a further 16 wounded over the four-day siege in which the enemy reinforcements’ attempts to break Mujahideen siege of the district and retake the district have repeatedly been foiled.

A number of the enemy vehicles and tanks are said to have been blown apart in the last four days.

Four Mujahideen fighters have been martyred with five others wounded throughout Mujahideen four-day siege of the district.

This came as the district of Jani Khel in the neighboring Paktia fell to Mujahideen with all its checkpoints, and various kinds of arms and ammunition and a number of vehicles.

The district of Jani Khel is reported to be in the hands of Mujahideen at moment, while the enemy attempts of regain the district have been thwarted over the last couple of days.

The enemy major task force including a large convoy of vehicles and tanks is said to have been force into a halt on the way to Jani Khel district and is now stuck in the limits of Chamkani district with no sense of direction.
