8 killed as check post overrun in Lashkergah

HELMAND, Dec. 23 – Mujahideen carried out attacks on a hireling check post in Basharan area of capital Lashkergah overnight, overrunning the post after a brief resistance forcing the enemy to flee, killing 8 police and seizing a PKM machine gun, 1 RPG launcher, 1 LMG, 1 binicular, 2 rifles and other equipment.
