8 acres of land cleared of poppy cultivation, 9 held on drug selling

KABUL, Jan. 21 – The anti-narcotics police have discovered and destroyed about 8 acres of land from poppy cultivation, cleared an alcohol production facotry and arrested 9 people in Farah, Parwan, Takhar Badakhshan, and Fariyab provinces.

According to details, 8 acres of land cleared of poppy cultivation in Pusht Rod district of Farah was cleared from poppy cultivation.

Among 9 suspect four people have been arrested in connection with drug trafficking from Parwan, 2 people arrested in connection with drug sales from Takhar, and another person arrested in connection with smuggling 4 kg of marijuana from Badakhshan.

Also, an alcohol production factory was discovered in Faryab province and two people were arrested in connection with it.
