KABUL, Jan. 30 – The European Union (EU) has promised long-term support to the Afghans in various sectors by the EU chargé d’affaires in a meeting with Economy Minister Qari Din Mohammad Hanif, said statement a statement by economy ministry.

According to statement Raffaella Iodice said the EU is trying to engage with the Afghan government and people in the long term.

Welcoming humanitarian aid from the EU and the world at large, the minister called for shifting focus to infrastructure development.

Hanif suggested the construction of power dams, standardization of the agricultural system and creation of cold storage facilities.

Pressure tactics had never yielded the desired results, but fueled tensions, he argued, urging the world to interact well with the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan and cooperate with efforts for its development.
