Over 16 killed and wounded as heavy clashes underway in Marjah

HELMAND, July. 15 – A recent report arriving from Marjah district states that a heavy gunfight broke out against combined enemy troops of NAN, ANP and local militias arriving Drab Charrahi area for an operation early this morning.

Attacks of heavy and light arms is said to be still underway, 5 APCs have so far been destroyed by RPG and 82 artillery fire leaving 16 gunmen killed or hurt inside.

A U.S heavy machine gun and a rifle have been seized.
