FARYAB, Sep. 21 – Amid ongoing ‘Operation Mansouri’, Mujahideen carried out coordinated attacks on enemy positions in Yaka Khana, Chaght, Qashlaq, Yati Rawq, Band Ab, Gardan, Qartana, Baish Kapa and Akhund Abad areas of Almar district on Wednesday. Attacks of heavy and light weapons lasted intensely till early night yesterday, overrunning 19 check posts and a military base as well as taking control over all the mentioned areas while arresting 8 puppets and leaving 2 including a hireling commander seriously wounded as well as forcing the rest to flee leaving 3 corpses behind. A ranger pickup, 2 motorbikes, 1 mortar tube, 1 sniper gun, 2 PK machine guns, 1 RPG launcher, 6 Kalashnikovs and other ammunition were seized as war spoils.
