Japanese Ambassador Called on Foreign Minister

KABUĹ, Dec. 10 – Ambassador of Japan in Afghanistan, Okada Takashi called on Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi at Kabul today, said Abdul Qahar Balkhi the spokesman of foreign ministry.

Minister Muttaqi welcomed the ambassador and appreciated Japan for  its106 million dollars aid and positive diplomatic interaction with Afghanistan and termed it as good example for the international community.

Mr. Takashi, expressed about their discussion with the international community on how to promote economic development in Afghanistan and added that Japan intends to increase its assistance in Afghanistan in the fields of alternative livelihood of poppy, treatment of drug addicts and other areas.

He said: Japan will start its work as a member of the Security Council next year, therefore, through an active diplomacy we are trying to play a good role about Afghanistan in the Security Council.

To the end, Mr, Muttaqi appreciated Japan’s efforts and requested that the positive message of Islamic Emirate’s in preventing poppies, reducing administrative corruption, providing better security and other matters should be portrayed.
