According to the a statement of the office of the deputy economic prime minster, today the Deputy PM for Economic Affairs, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, visited Baghlan province to meet with citizens affected by the recent floods.
Expressing condolences, Mullah Baradar Akhund acknowledged the significant personal and financial toll inflicted by the recent floods in Baghlan province. He conveyed prayers for the departed souls, patience for the bereaved, and swift recovery for the injured.
Highlighting immediate action, Mullah Baradar Akhund mentioned the swift response of the High Commission for Disaster Management of the Islamic Emirate, which convened an emergency meeting upon learning of the disaster. During this meeting, committees were formed under the leadership of Ministries of Interior, Economy, Public Health, Ministry of State for Disaster Management and Afghan Red Crescent Society to provide prompt assistance to affected citizens not only in Baghlan but also in Takhar, Faryab, Badakhshan, and Ghor provinces.
Addressing the people of Baghlan, Mullah Baradar Akhund reassured them of the Islamic Emirate’s unwavering support until their lives are restored to normalcy. Emphasizing transparency, he affirmed that all available resources are being mobilized, and relevant ministries and agencies are actively engaged in delivering urgent aid.
He pledged transparent distribution of collected donations to ensure equitable assistance distribution. Expressing gratitude, Deputy PM Mullah Baradar Akhund extended appreciation to citizens who have aided flood victims and urged national businessmen, affluent citizens, charities, institutions, and agencies to contribute to relief efforts in this challenging time.
