WARDAK, Feb.21 – The Public Health Directorate has started a polio immunization drive in 7 districts of Wardak province and it been the fourth time to run an anti-polio vaccination campaign since the Islamic Emirate came to power.

Hafiz Mohammad Amin Omari , the governor of Wardak called on the people to vaccinate their children and follow public health guidelines so as to protect themselves against several diseases. He expressed his gratitude to the  health workers and nurses for provision of health care and vaccinating children of  the Wardak province in critical condition.

Dr. Zirk Zirak, the director of Public Health, said: “In the campaign at least 1022710 children under the age of five will be vaccinated by 1015 health personnel in 7 districts of the province.”

The polio immunization drive will start in the entire districts of the Wardak province except Behsood due to the snowfall and it will be implemented in Behsood as well after the snowfall is over.
