Extreme snowfall results in 49 deaths, injures 14 in Nuristan 

NURISTAN, Feb. 6 – Heavy snowfall and freezing temperatures caused 49 deaths and a large number of people suffered injuries in Bargamtal district of Nuristan province, according to Al-Emarah News reports.

It adds 49 dead bodies and 14 others trapped beneath the heaps of snow have been recovered while rescue mission is underway to rescue more.

Elsewhere 6 death bodies and two wounded were retrieved from beneath the snow, while a number of the homes have been buried under snow in the said district.
