Economic Commission authorizes Ministry to contract extraction of iron in Herat

KABUL, Apr. 09 – The Economic Commission, headed by Mullah Abdul Ghani Birather the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, authorized the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum to contract for the exploration and extraction of iron in Ghoriano district of Herat province and the lead mine in Tolak district of Ghor province.

The commission also strongly advised the relevant departments to solve the problems of factories and manufacturing companies in a timely manner and without delay. Also instructed the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum to award the contract of salt mines to domestic companies for the purpose of producing and refining salt, considering the existing problems in the production of domestic salt and the needs of the people.
