18 killed as 2 check posts overrun Nahr Siraj

HELMAND, Aug. 11 – Recent reports from Gerishk district state that amid ongoing ‘Operation Omari’, Mujahideen carried out coordinated attacks on 2 hirelings check posts on capital Lashkargah road in Alozo and Popalzo area of Nahr Siraj region midnight yesterday.
Attack in which heavy and light arms were used continued till 4:00 am local time, resulting in both check posts overrun, killing 18 gunmen wounding several others and forcing the rest to flee while leaving behind 13 corpses on the battle ground.
2 PKMs, 1 RPG launcher, 12 rifles and a large amount of ammo and other war equipment was seized in the operation.
It is said that 2 Mujahideen were wounded and 2 others embraced martyrdom in the operation.
