WARDAK, July 28 – Al-Emarah News said Mujahideen combatants raided 6 enemy combat posts in Jalriz district of Wardak province last night, triggering a violent fighting that extended into Thursday.

As many as 8 police lost their lives in the 9-hour long fighting and a further 4 suffered injuries. Two enemy armored tanks were destroyed in the fighting, too. An enemy post is said to be still under Mujahideen siege.

Two Mujahideen fighters were injured in the operation.

On Thursday, Mujahideen conducted offensive on the Arbaki militia, targeting their installation in the said district, likely to have caused the enemy heavy losses but the precise extent of the enemy casualties is unclear.

In another report from Wardak province, an unknown number of the enemy soldiers suffered casualties with two tanks destroyed in a clash with Mujahideen combatant in Chak district of the province on Wednesday evening.

Furthermore, Mujahideen launched attacks on the police station and posts in Jalga district of this province late yesterday night. No losses of life and injuries have been reported.
