NOORISTAN, Sep. 11 – Al-Emarah News said Monday that as many as 16 enemy soldiers were killed and an additional 22 sustained wounds in a violent fighting that unfolded in Bargamtal district of Nuristan province after Mujahideen launched a cleanup operation on the enemy posts and installations early Monday morning.

Mujahideen stormed the administrative district building, police headquarters and almost all the checkpoints in the mentioned district, prompting a bloody fighting lasting four hours, it added.

It further said 10 checkpoints a large area slipped form the enemy control and fell to Mujahideen, while Mujahideen captured from the enemy various kinds of arms ammo.

Four Mujahideen are said to have embraced martyrdom with a further 6 wounded in today’s operation.
