LAGHMAN, Mar. 01 – Amid the ongoing Omari Operations, Mujahideen of Islamic Emirate launched coordinated attacks on enemy check posts in Nawi Qala and Armal areas of the provincial capital Mehtarlam early morning hours Wednesday.

The attacks in which heavy and light arms were used resulted in 2 check posts being overrun, several gunmen killed and wounded as well as 7 detained and a sizable amount of arms and military equipment seized.

Mujahideen similarly engaged an enemy reinforcement convoy in the area, destroying 6 APCs and seizing 5 along with more arms and equipment.

It is said that 2 Mujahideen were also martyred in the fighting, may Allah accept them.

UPDATE: Officials from the Mehtarlam report that the fighting resulted in 4 enemy check posts being overrun, with 7 APCs destroyed while 5 APCs, 3 Dshk heavy machine guns and other equipment seized. Several gunmen were also reported killed and injured and 7 others detained.
