The Minister of Public Health, Dr. Qalandar Ebad, accompanied by a delegation from the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, embarked on an official visit to Qatar, says Ministry of Public Health of the IEA.

During this visit, Minister Ebad will engage in a four-day meeting with the technical advisory group in Doha. The meeting will witness the participation of key stakeholders, including the World Health Organization, UNICEF, the Center for Infectious Diseases Control, Rotary International, and representatives from the Gavi administration.

The primary objective of this gathering is to deliberate on strategies and approaches to eradicate polio in Afghanistan and Pakistan. The discussions will focus on developing sustainable technical solutions for the future. The advisory group is actively collaborating to explore methods of eliminating border-related challenges and impediments to polio eradication efforts.
