Mujahideen seize 9 combat posts in north; 23 killed, 2 taken captive

TAKHAR, Apr. 25 – The Islamic Emirate’s Mujahideen seized 8 of the enemy combat posts and a major base amid full-scale operation aimed at the enemy installations in Takhar province’s Darqad district on Monday.

At least 17 joint enemy personnel were killed and a dozen more suffered wounds in Monday’s operation continuing into night hours. Two tanks were destroyed in the fighting.

Mujahideen took 2  puppets prisoners as well as capturing a great deal of arms and ammo from the enemy possession consisting of 7 Kalashnikov rifles, 1 DShK, a heavy vehicle mounted antitank machine gun, 2  PK heavy machine guns, hand grenade and ammunition.

Two Mujahideen are reported to have become martyrs in yesterday’s operation. May Allah accept them as Shuhada (martyrs)!

Early Tuesday morning, Mujahideen thwarted the enemy offensive in Darqad district of Takhar province and killed 6 policemen, taking the number of the enemy troops killed since Monday to 23, while 1 tank and a vehicle were destroyed bringing the number of the enemy tanks destroyed in Takhar operations to 4.
