NANGARHAR, Feb. 25 – The Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock, Mawlwi Attaullah Omari, during the opening meeting of drip irrigation systems in Nangarhar province, asked investors to invest in Afghanistan and the Ministry of Agriculture to provide them with all kinds of facilities. The group of facilities is ready to provide land facilities.

In the meeting, which was held in the presence of a number of officials of the Islamic Emirate and a number of investors, for the purpose of opening a drip irrigation system on 100 acres of land, and during the visit to the gardens that are irrigated by the drip system, Minister Mawlawi Attaullah Omari announced the support of the Ministry of Agriculture from the private sector and added: “We have many possibilities in our country, which we did not have access to due to war and other problems in the last hundred decades. In the last one and a half years after the conquest, the situation has improved a lot in order to take advantage of the opportunities, and our investors have the main contribution in taking advantage of these opportunities.

Mr. Omari also asked the investors to come and invest in their country without any risk or threat: “In the Ministry of Agriculture, we provide them with the land they need at any level and besides. We also provide all kinds of facilities. The Ministry of Agriculture has an Agricultural Development Fund, through which traders are provided with as much money as they want so that they can come and invest in agriculture, livestock, irrigation, poultry breeding, horticulture and other sectors.

Meanwhilr, a number of investors who have invested in the construction of drip irrigation gardens thanked the Ministry of Agriculture for providing facilities, especially land facilities and asked for the support and cooperation of IEA in further development of their gardens.

Mohammad Ghazir Saeedi, the technical manager of Spin Ghar Company, said: “We used the drip system in Nangarhar almost five years ago. At that time, no one believed that this system would be successful and give good results, but we built five commercial gardens, the result of which was excellent, for this purpose, other people were also encouraged and built gardens using the drip irrigation system.

According to the officials of the Department of Agriculture of Nangarhar province, more than 500 acres of orchards equipped with drip irrigation system have been built in Nangarhar and this series is going on.

Mawlwi Ghulamur Rahman Kazim, Director of Nangarhar Canal applouded the efforts of the Ministry of Agriculture for development and fertility and added that there was no work in the last decades but was destroyed, our efforts are going on for the development and prosperity of the country and we want the people to cooperate with us in this regard.
