Large area purged as 8 check posts overrun in Faryab, equipment seized

FARYAB, Aug. 26 – Amid ongoing ‘Operation Mansouri’, Mujahideen carried out coordinated attacks on hireling check posts in Tagab Shan, Gawki and Jar Kala areas of Guriwan district last night.
Gunfight of heavy and light arms lasted till early morning hours, resulting in all the mentioned areas cleared with 8 enemy posts overrun after killing 8 puppets and forcing the rest to flee leaving 8 corpses behind on the battle ground.
According to details, 2 tanks, 1 ranger pickup, 2 PK machine guns, 8 RPG launchers and various types of ammunition have been seized by Mujahideen.
It is said that a Mujahid was martyred during the operation.
