KABUL, Jan. 25 – The ongoing road construction project for the first section of Khairkhane Kotal, initiated by Kabul Municipality this year, has reached a significant milestone with 72 percent progress, according to the Kabul Municipality.
The Department of Programs and Projects at Kabul Municipality has reported that rapid progress is being made in applying the second layer of bitumen to the 3,710-meter long and 27-meter wide road. This crucial phase is expected to be completed soon, after which the road will be ready for traffic.
The road construction project for the first part of Khairkhane Kotal Road encompasses various elements, including ramps, bridges, retaining walls, bus stops, and beautifully designed flower beds, all meeting the standards of a high-quality road. The team is working diligently to finish the project promptly, aiming to minimize traffic congestion and ensure a smooth flow of vehicles in the area.
