LAGHMAN, Nov. 17 – Today, several development projects started in a series of ceremonies in Dawlat Shah district of Laghman province.

Mawlawi Sherjan Rashidi, head of Laghman’s river department, said today that the construction of the Dulch Shahi, Drangi, Oluk dams and the retaining wall of the first canal of Daulat Shah district was completed with the financial cost of 72 million Afghanis from the WFP organization and ABM has started implementing organizations, which will irrigate thousands of acres of land.

He said that 640 workers are working in these projects, and they are paid 8,000 to 9,000 afghanis per month by the program, and the work will be completed in 9 months.

Meanwhile, Laghman Governor Alhaj Qari Zainul Abedin Abid, appreciated the start of these projects, and thanked the officials of WFP partner organization for approving these important projects for this province.

 

Mr. Abid recommended the project implementation organization to pay special attention to the quality of works.

 

On the other hand, the officials of the project implementation organization (ABM) assured the governor of Laghman that they will finish their work in good quality and according to the proposal on time.
