Accordi g to ministry of foreign affiars this morning, Mr. Hassan Kazemi Qomi, the Iranian ambassador to Kabul and special representative of the President of the Islamic Republic, met with Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi, the Afghan Minister of Foreign Affairs.

 

Minister Muttaqi conveyed the condolences of the Islamic Emirate and the Afghan people to the Iranian government and nation following the tragic helicopter crash that claimed the lives of President Ibrahim Raisi, Foreign Minister Amir Abdullahian, and several others. He offered prayers for the souls of the departed and expressed solidarity with the people of Iran. He also emphasized the importance of Iran’s role in regional cooperation, particularly with Afghanistan.

 

Ambassador Qomi expressed his gratitude for the condolences and stated that the Iranian government and people deeply appreciate the support from Afghanistan. He confirmed that the message of condolence was received promptly, in the immediate aftermath of the incident.

 

The meeting concluded with both sides acknowledging the cordial relations between the two nations and governments. Ambassador Qomi assured the Afghan side that they would be informed of the latest decisions regarding the funeral ceremonies.
