KABUL, Nov. 12 – Today, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the IEA, Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi, met Assistant for Human Affairs of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the Special Representative of the Secretary General of the Organization for Afghanistan, Dr. Tariq Bakhit and his delegation at the Star Palace on Saturday.

In this meeting, which was also attended by the Political Assistant of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Mr. Yusuf bin Muhammad Al-Dubai, Dr. Tariq Bakhit expressed that the purpose of their visit to Afghanistan is to implement decisions of the Extraordinary Meeting of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation on Afghanistan as well as the official opening of the office of this organization in Kabul, through which it will soon start humanitarian aid to the people of Afghanistan.

Foreign Minister Mawkawi Amir Khan Muttaqi thanked on behalf of the people of Afghanistan for the assistance of the member countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and said that IEA not only assure providing all kinds of facilities for humanitarian and development aid for the organization, but also invites the member countries of the organization to opportunities of mutual benefit through investment in Afghanistan.

Both sides also discussed establishment of  International Islamic University in Afghanistan by the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and restarting the process of selecting Kabul as the cultural capital of Islamic countries for 2024 and a number of other topics.
