KABUL, Feb. 10 – Foreign Minister of the IEA Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi had a telephone conversation with his Turkish counterpart Mr. Mevlut Cavusoglu about the corporeal and financial losses of the last devastating earthquake in Turkey, said Hafiz Zia Ahmad Takal the deputy spokesman of foreign ministry.

 

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, on behalf of the Afghan government and people, once again expressed his deepest condolences to the Turkish government and people, and shared with his Muslim Turkish brothers and sisters in this great tragedy.

 

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey thanked Mr. Muttaqi for the telephone conversation and sharing his grief and considered this earthquake to be one of the biggest earthquakes in the history of Turkey, which affected about 13 million people in 10 provinces.

 

Minister Muttaki, explained that IEA has announced to help its brother Turkish people to the best of its ability and if Turkey requests, our rescue and emergency medical care teams are also ready to help and rescue.

Foreign Minister said that the Afghan Embassy in Ankara has also sent a team to the earthquake area to help.

The Turkish Foreign Minister thanked for the help and added that Afghans and Turks have been cooperating with each other throughout history and whenever help is needed, they will call on their Afghan brothers.
