LAGHMAN, Nov. 14 –  The construction work of Shamram and Mia Saib dams in Alishang district of Laghman province have been started at the financial expense of WFP.

Mawlawi Sherjan Rashidi, the regional head of  canal, told the media that the construction of the dams of Shamram and Mia Sahib is being done by ABM organization at the financial expense of WFP at the cost of 55 million Afghanis.

The project which will provide 600 people job opportunities will be completed in 9 months.

It is worth mentioning that on the same day, a solar network worth 12 million AFN has been commissioned and handed over to Alingar district by UNICEF.
