A conference on Afghanistan is scheduled to take place in Brussels, the capital city of Belgium on 4-5 October. Representatives of 70 countries and 30 international organizations will participate in the conference. Contrary to WARSAW conference which was held on 8-9 last July and had a military tone, this Brussels conference is convened to financially and politically support the corrupt Kabul Administration. It is to be mentioned that from the first Bonn Conference till this last Brussels conference, the invaders have always tried to give legitimacy to the corrupt (Kabul) Administration and to their occupation in Afghanistan. This was and is their prime objective behind the convening of these conferences. But, despite spending billions of dollars, though on the face of papers, in practice, failures, illegitimate acts, corruption, squabbling, oppression against people and injustice on the part of the Kabul Administration have kept ascending after holding every conference. A country where countrymen are not able to pay municipality bills without bribe; where government posts and military ranks are sold in return of money; where drugs are transported in government vehicles; where ministers are appointed from Washington and from the capital cities of Europe, is such an administration able to truly represent and serve its people? Where government administration is divided horizontally and vertically among few groups then can the qualified and talented countrymen expect a bright future?

We see that nepotism, corruption and embezzlement have widened the gap among the poor and the rich. From one side, some individuals have obtained billions of dollars but on the other hand, the nation is deprived of a loaf of bread at breakfast and dinner. Currently, forty percent of our countrymen are living under the poverty line.

Can someone show a single big national project ever completed during the past one and a half decade? Contrarily, there are expenditures on projects which have resulted in producing no tangible benefits to the people or have been utilized for a transient period.

The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan is not against development and prosperity of the people rather it is one of its lofty Jihadic objectives. But lining up pockets of a few persons under the name of development and prosperity of people or using the said money to kill our countrymen or destroy the country is a huge injustice and oppression against our nation. Such acts show that invaders and their surrogate governments could not cater to the legitimate demands of the people, as this fact has been proven time and again during the past one and a half decade.

Independence, freedom and territorial integrity, leading life in the light of one’s own faith and culture, and formation of an administration for one’s country are the legitimate, fundamental and internationally recognized rights of every nation but they are being violated by participants of this conference. In our view, the Muslim and noble people of Afghanistan would obtain countrywide development and prosperity, when occupation of the country is ended and a genuine Islamic and national government is established– a government whose foremost economic strategy is based on implementation of all legitimate demands of the people, rather than pondering to orders of the invaders or bombarding their own people or destroying their country in order to ensure continuation of the occupation.
