NANGARHAR, Dec. 13 – With the efforts of Department of Agriculture of Nangarhar Province, and the technical cooperation of the Islamic Relief Institute, Si Pai Canal, a 9-kilometer long canal in Daman area of Batti Kot district has been cleaned and restored at the cost of 7 million of AFN.
Mawlawi Abdul Sattar Muhammad, head of agriculture, said during inaugurating the said canal, that 864 meters of retaining wall, two culverts and two gates have been built along the canal, adding that this canal will irrigate 9,000 acres of agricultural land and 11,016 people have been provided employment during its reconstruction.
