8 killed and wounded as post overrun in Faryab, enemy abandons 6 posts

FARYAB, Jan. 12 – According to a report, Mujahideen carried out an attack on an Arbaki check post in Karez area of Chilgazy district last night, sparking clashes of heavy and light arms that lasted till late night hours, overrunning the post after killing 4 minions, including a commander while leaving 2 others wounded and forcing the rest to flee leaving corpses, 1 RPG launcher, 2 rifles and other ammunition behind on the battle ground.

2 Mujahideen are said to have suffered injuries in the operation.

Also in the said district, enemy has fled and abandoned a military base and 6 check posts in Karez and Kunjak areas laste yesterday due to fear of Mujahideen attacks.
