3 posts, base overrun in Faryab, equipment seized

FARYAB, Feb. 14 – Officials say, amid ongoing ‘Operation Omari’, Mujahideen carried out coordinated attacks on enemy positions in Gorzad area early yesterday.
Attacks of heavy and light arms lasted till midday today, overrunning 3 hireling check posts in a military base.
According to details, 7 including key commander – Sheer Muhammad – have been killed – with 4 corpses left behind – and 3 others wounded as well as a tank destroyed.
A ranger pickup, PKM machine gun with 6 boxes of ammos, 4 rifles with 1000 rounds, a pistol and various other military equipment was confiscated.
It is said that 2 Mujahideen have been wounded while another one has embraced martyrdom during the operation.
