TAKHAR, Jan. 25 – The Takhar-Badakhshan highway restoration and reconstruction project, valued at over 15 million Afghanis, has been successfully completed and is now operational.

The Ministry of Public Works officially inaugurated the newly restored highway today. The event was attended by esteemed individuals including Mawlawi Obaidullah Aminzadeh, the Governor of Takhar Province, Mawlawi Amir Mohammad Huzaifah, the head of public benefits in the province, and several local officials.

 

The project involved the repair and reconstruction of 58 kilometers of roads, as well as the repair of 120 meters of road, the construction of 100 meters of gabion wall, and the repair of 8 culverts. The contract for this extensive undertaking was awarded to Sefat Construction and Road Construction Company through an agreement with the Ministry of Public Works.

 

The completion of this project is a significant milestone, as it will greatly alleviate transportation challenges for travelers on the highway, compared to the conditions experienced in the past.
