KABUL, Oct. 25 – The first day of the general meeting of the Asia-Pacific news agencies organization “OANA” held today in the capital of Iran, Tehran, said Bakhter News Agncy.

The meeting attended by the Irnaian Minister of Culture and Islamic Education, Mohammad Mehdi Ismaili, and representatives of the member countries.

According to Bakhtar News Agency, 60 representatives of international media and news agencies from 35 countries, including the head of Bakhtar Agency, Abdul Wahid Ryan, have participated in this meeting.

Organization of Asia and Pacific News Agencies “OANA” was established in 1340 with the support of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization in order to facilitate communication between the countries of the region.

The strengthening of media cooperation between the member countries is the most important agenda of today’s meeting in Tehran.

Currently, 43 news agencies from 35 countries in Asia and the Pacific are members of this organization. The meeting will continue tomorrow.
